Happy Halloween!

This hopefully won't be the last post I make concerning Figure for the spookiest holiday of the year - but I've saved his two most recent bass concoctions for the night before Halloween. A drumstep remix 'This is Halloween' from Tim Burton's 'Nightmare Before Christmas' and a downright stimulating moombahcore remix of 'Halloween' by The Misfits.
Happy Halloween to all my bass-heads out there! Remember to show Figure appreciation for all of his fantastic free tracks by finding him on Facebook and sharing his sounds!

Skrillex and Avicii

Well it certainly has been some time! I've been incredibly busy lately and I've had to prioritize alot but don't ever think I'd forget about you guys. For a while there was a bit of a drought in the EDM world but I've found some new (unreleased) snacks the past week and I've had a couple that I've been sitting on for some time and it seems like more than appropriate timing to reveal them.
Skrillex has been insanely busy lately with his mothership tour and he's booked for basically the next century but SOMEHOW he has found the time to cook up a handful of pretty great tracks but not the time to release them. Now, I like these songs alot but I really do expect more out of Sonny - but I'm going to chalk it up to him being so busy. The only song I'm sharing (for now) is 'Syndicate' which is the theme for a new FPS game of the same name being released by EA (which I will buy for its soundtrack, as I did Mortal Kombat 9 which also featured Skrillex).
That other song I'm sharing is not by Skrillex but actually Avicii who is almost his opposite. It's recently surfaced on the web and the title is unsure and so the track has for now been dubbed 'ID2' (referring to how 'Levels' was called 'ID' until Avicii officially revealed the tracks title) and much like 'Levels' I can tell you right now that this is going to be a MASSIVE tune. The preview I have here isn't high quality and I'm not even sure if it's complete but I absolutely LOVE it.
Be sure to check out Skrillex and Avicii on facebook and show them some love for the excellent work!

RAGERS VOLUME II

I woke up this morning and stubbed my toe on the way to breakfast, and I couldn't be more ready to jump around and lose it to crazy electronic music. I hope you feel the same because I'm about to hurl tracks at you that very easily might cause you to take on an adult Siberian tiger using only your teeth, and so long as you are listening to these songs I guarantee you will defeat the tiger. Also as a quick note I'm going to use hulkshare now so that I can share even more music with you guys and all of it can be downloaded. Give me feedback.

Monsters of Drumstep Vol. 2

It's finally out! Figure has released his second volume of 'Monsters of Drumstep' and it's mindblowing. Be careful not to have a heart attack listening to these tracks, which can be found exclusively on beatport for the moment. The pack includes Figure's original tracks 'The Mummy', 'Boogie man', 'Mr. Hyde', and my personal favorite 'Leatherface', and also features remixes by Oblivion, Captain Panic!, and The Killabits. If you're waiting for it to come out via itunes, sit back and sink your fangs into these new freebies that Figure has released along with the new volume. Figure is calling these some of his best works and he's just giving them away, show him some love on his facebook to let him know how much you appreciate all of the new bangers from beyond the grave he's been dropping lately.

More Free Stuff

After searching the web for the past hour here are the most interesting tracks that turned up. First is a mashup of 'Bonfire' with the KTN remix of 'Spitfire' by Porter Robinson which I like alot, I've recently been into the pairing of rap lyrics with electronic instrumentals but this is the first mash including a drumstep track that I've heard and it's pretty good. You'd expect something that fast to be impossible to pair. I also have a brief mashmix that I'll let you experience for yourself, nothing too special but I enjoy it. Good for the road. Lastly is a kind of old remix by Neus of the Stereoheroes track 'Longshot' which was released over the early summer on their Exiles EP.

Regeneration Official Trailer

Oh god, this is exciting, a trailer has just been released for a new documentary that is going to be the next big step for EDM. Regeneration is the new project which will be pairing 5 major DJ's with artists of other contemporary genres to produce music together. The groups so far are: Skrillex and the remaining members of The Doors to do rock, Pretty Lights and Ralph Stanley to do country, The Crystal Method who will be doing R&B with Martha Reeves, DJ Premier and The Berklee School of Music Orchestra and the rapper Nas who are to produce a classical track, and Mark Ronson teamed up with Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty, and members of the Dap Kings to create a jazz track. These are going to be some fascinating collabs I can already tell. We'll keep you all updated on the progress of the documentary and any previews/clips that we can snag. Here is the official trailer.

Bass Monsters

It's October again and in true drumstep tradition, Figure is releasing a slew of horrifying tracks in his second volume of 'Monster of Drumstep'. Figure has for a long time been one of my favorite drumstep artists, and it's no secret that he is obsessed with the scariest holiday of the year. I'll be unleashing some of his newer beasts as we get closer to Halloween but for those of you who haven't heard of Figure until now, stuff these bassy treats in your bag and let out your inner maniac for a bit.

And as an extra special treat, here is The Killabits remix of 'The Werewolf' which was also part of his first 'Monsters of Drumstep' paired with a cheesy/badass video by none other than Mat The Alien. Go check out Figure, The Killabits, and Mat The Alien on facebook and soundcloud!

The Garden (Bagarre)

Finally today 'The Garden' by Mustard pimp is out on the net, originally the track was called Bagarre and after hearing it in a couple of mixes and from clips that were ripped off of radio shows I've been interested in getting my hands on it for sometime, check out Mustard pimps other stuff too on their Soundcloud and like them on FB!

I BEAR GIFTS IN TIMES OF SORROW

My most sincere apologies about the lack of content lately. Let me make that up to you now, and possibly cheer you up after the recent and depressing report of Steve's passing away. Rage in his memory and for his honor, apple computers are one of the most important tools a DJ employs, I know few pros that don't rely on a mac. These are for you Steve - for what you've done for electronic music with intelligent soundcards and quick operating systems.

Steve Jobs

Today a true visionary and legend passed away to the great shock and sorrow of the entire world. This man was truly admirable; when people told him that something couldn't be done and ridiculed him, he persisted and triumphed. To commemerate this man, here is a playlist of songs by his favorite artist, Bob Dylan. "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" - Steve Jobs, RIP.
